that is, the Random Escaflowne-Related Musing Of The Day.
i have decided that Merle has hammerspace inside her shirt. or rather, not exactly hammerspace, but random-crap-she-stole-from-Hitomi-space. i have decided this because she is essentially wearing a sack, with no underwear (as we discovered when we were having too much fun with the step button on Caroline's DVD player--although movie-Merle does have underwear), and yet she is able to keep pagers, poofs, lipstick, snacks, CD players, and other such items stored apparently quite securely in her dress, and make amusing expressions while she is retrieving them in the scene where she has a pager in her shirt which is beeping madly. (my friends who don't know Escaflowne think she's groping herself.) you'd think if there were pockets we'd see the seams and the weights, although admittedly her dress has to be rather stiff to prevent it from crumpling and riding up a lot.

okay, i know i've realized overanalyzed this, but hey, it was an excuse to post amusing pictures and use the phrase "hammerspace inside her shirt." and, after all, i am rooming with someone who spent multiple hours analyzing how one would go about removing Allen's uniform.

Perhaps she is quasi-marsupial and so has a pouch on her stomach?

Figuring out how to remove Allen's uniform took very little time once I figured out how it was constructed. It was constructed te be a pain to remove, apparently. What I spent hours doing was figuring out how to remove his clothes forcibly while he's tied up, without damaging the clothing.
