Where a) IT is the move, which was, IMHO, a grand success, and resulted in everything except the big furniture being moved, most up three flights of stairs, in under four hours. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

Where b) IT is the [livejournal.com profile] kink_bingo entry, being five fics of highly varying quality, in three fandoms, two femmeslash, two het, one slash, totalling about 15 k, mostly written this past week. Also a WEBSITE UPDATE, which includes those five plus the two Steve/Tony fics I finished for the Fourth.

Cross-posting the [livejournal.com profile] kink_bingo post below, with notes:

Card (unmarked, as I lack a graphics editor at the moment) viewable here.

Author: Letterblade ([livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard)
Fandoms: Marvel Comics (3), Revolutionary Girl Utena (1), Fullmetal Alchemist (1)
Kinks: Mirrors, Bondage (held down), Silence, Rough Sex, Bukkake

Cat's Eye
Mirrors, with extra dubcon, pseudo-knifeplay, and general fuckiness.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Sloth/Lust. (F/F)
Sloth reaches round, slides two damp fingers along her collarbone, slick over her skin, to circle the ouroborus high on her chest, red stamp on white skin.
Note: IMHO, this sucks.

Submission Hold
Bondage (held down), no particular extras.
Marvel Comics: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark. (M/M)
But then Steve pounces and brings him down to grappling, and it's all muscle and grip, and Tony doesn't stand a damn chance.
Note: Really not sure about this one.

Telepaths Don't Need...
Silence, with extra caning, breathplay, forced masturbation, and general heavy kink.
Marvel Comics: Emma Frost/Tony Stark. (F/M)
You don't go calling out a Queen of the Hellfire Club unless you know exactly, exactly what you're asking for.
Note: [livejournal.com profile] dafnap and [livejournal.com profile] quigonejinn would like to warn you that this might melt people's faces from how psychotically hot it is.

Antique and Breakable
Rough sex, no particular extras.
Marvel Comics: Steve Rogers/Sharon Carter. (M/F)
There's a war on, and she has the link to give away his location to his enemies in her boot, and she's pressed to his chest like he's the only thing in the world, kissing him hard with his hands in her hair, hard and hungry. Last meal.
Note: Meh.

Black and Blue
Bukkake, with extra strap-on and a dash of spanking.
Revolutionary Girl Utena: Kaoru Kozue/Takatsuki Shiori. (F/F) (Shut up, girls ejaculate too!)
All of which goes to say, I met somebody just now who has exactly this same problem. Not the brother. The memory. The elevator. Pink-haired creep, butterflies, revolution, the lot. And here I thought I was eight years out of this shit.
Note: I DONE GIRLPORN. This and the Emma/Tony are the ones I'm really proud of out of this bunch.

WEBSITE UPDATE!

Fics involved in this update: 12: 10 new, 1 updated series, 1 updated on-shot (fanart!)

New things involved in this update: Iron Man fic, femmeslash. (Not in the same fic though.)

Characters involved in this update: Arisugawa Juri, the tenth Doctor, Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald, Jack Harkness, Kaoru Kozue, the Master, Shinohara Wakaba, Obadiah Stane, Howard Stark, Maria Stark, Tony Stark, Takatsuki Shiori, Tidus, Yuna, and Yunalesca. (Now that's an interesting line-up!)

And the update headliner: The Art and Craft of Shutting (the fuck) Up.
Self-indulgent Torchwood/Iron Man movie crossover pr0n! The oft-mentioned Jack/Tony posted to the draft filter a few weeks ago, now with even more yammering. And a gratuitous Captain Britain joke. YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT.

As always, please let me know about any broken links etc. Or 403s. For some reason, all the new files uploaded with permissions set so that they threw 403s when viewed. I think I fixed everything...

Hope do have it done today. May, um, not.

What's the checklist for doing an update of this?

- edit and clean-code all fic
- list all fic in my database (my reference only; this is not a database-driven site, which is why this list is so long)
- side-code all fic
- code library cards (in index_alphabet.html)
- add new chapters/stories to the table of content pages of multiparters, and update the next chapter links on the previous chapter (putting up the next Master/Doctor/Jack kinkfest)
- update index pages (2008, as there is now more and I am now not entirely homeless)
- add new index pages (f/f, as there is now some girlslash going up, and marvelverse, as there's Iron Man moviefic)
- copy/past library cards to all appropriate index pages
- make the update page, including cards for all fics, new index pages, etc.
- add update summary and link to the detailed update page to the main update page
- update the site word counts
- update the main index page (new category numbers, new index pages, what's new link to the list of everything that's just gone up)
- update fandoms on the splash page
- PIMP

I THINK that's it!

I am such a masochist.

Grble.

So I went over the Jack/Tony fic again, and I'm contemplating posting it without a beta. (I'd wanted one because I didn't feel like I knew Tony well enough. This was before I devoured stacks of comics--which, if anything, told me more about movie!Tony by comparison with comics!Tony, especially the latter as he has been recently. All the joy's been beaten out of him by now; movie!Tony, as messed up as he is, still has that, at least for now. And this fandom seems to lead me to parenthetical ramblings.) It's what it needs to be, Tony's characterization seems just fine, and it really is just a crack-crossover toss-off one-shot.

(4800 words of toss-off one-shot. I am such a wordy bitch these days. But still.)

The bit that really gave me pause, given comics!Tony's huge depressive and self-abusive streak, was his comment that he likes being himself. "But all told, being Tony Stark is a pretty good deal. Lots of shit, karma's a bitch, might get worse, but still..." This Tony--he's still fresh to the game. He's got a really shiny suit, a lot of fame, an intact support network, a company under his control that he's trying to do good things with--getting rid of Stane and the under-the-table deals would settle a lot of his worries. He's physically a lot better off than comics!Tony early on, what with not having to plug in and charge every night--yeah, he's got a thing in his chest, but it's much less of an albatross than having to wear the entire chest plate constantly. He's drinking, sure--and given that Favreau mentioned wanting to play with the Demon in a Bottle arc, I expect this to become a problem next movie--but it hasn't broken over into suicidal alcoholism yet, and it's not something he'd even perceive as a problem at the moment. His identity's public, which is a big change, and probably giving poor Pepper a publicity migraine, but I suspect that at the moment, only a few months from the end of the movie, this mostly means he's getting a lot of attention--which he likes--and so laid.

Right now, his life is pretty darn fun. Laced through with guilt and irony, of course. But still.

He hasn't had his entire company and support network repeatedly dissected and taken away from him. He hasn't had his suit--or his mind--hijacked and used as a weapon against innocents or friends. He hasn't been shot by his own girlfriend, paralyzed, had his entire nervous system start falling apart on him. He hasn't tried to commit suicide by alcohol in the street. He hasn't shouldered the awful responsibility of superhero leadership and high government position. He hasn't watched Pepper marry another man, or broken off fighting with Rhodey. He hasn't spent years burdened down with premonitions of civil war, only to find them coming true, only to have to do horrible thing after horrible thing in the name of damage control, only to have it all end with the love of his life his best friend dead.

The shit hasn't caught up with him yet. (I have full faith that it will by next movie, but not yet.) Being Iron Man is still pretty darn fun.

He still never shuts up, though.

ER. That was a long ramble. What I was supposed to say here is--going to try to get a website update out this week. 'Cause it's been more than a month. And I've got a stack of stuff--mostly backlog, a lot of unrevised sponatenous ficlets or request answers. And the Jack/Tony will probably go up as the update headliner, kinda like Thirty-Five Owls did last time. (I should officially do that, actually. Highlight one fic per update. Hmmm.)

So. You HP and Grindeldore people. Remember this?

It is now finished. Edited. Expanded. Enriched. Entitled.

Thirty-Five Owls, written by Letterblade, betaed by Mattador, soon to be translated into both Spanish and Russian, will be available when The Letterblade Library goes live. A site exclusive; a headliner, if you will.

Heads up!

(When will letterblade.net go live? My schedule for the next week or so is absolutely insane, especially as my housing situation has undergone another convulsion. Let us say for the sake of saying, however, that it will go live on April 8th. I will provide notification if I can no longer keep to that date; but rest assured that when it does go live, there will be spam.)
letterblade: (dodgeball)

DOMAIN, I CAN HAZ!

Site will go live in...well, hard to say, because I'm still waiting on one or two other third-party things. Probably within a week or so. Go-live date will be spammed here, of course, when I have it.

*grins maniacally*
