being social makes one far more vulnerable than one otherwise is. for example, i am currently rather grumpy just because Cassie has, for several meals now, sat in the chair that i usually sit in, and she interrupted me in the middle of a recounting of my recent adventures with iMovie just to declare that she'd found the right place to give Shelly a foreheadrub. gah. stupid social life. can't live without it.

hedgehogs, anyone?

in other, less petty news, i have a shitload of work to do. long weekend starts a week from now, and i shall be going home to see anime and Lisa. which is yay. but before then i have a shitload of work to do. and my plan paper is due Friday and i haven't started it yet.

okay, that wasn't exactly non-petty. but as far as other petty stuff goes, my teacher liked my essay on Circe so much that he couldn't think of any corrections to scribble on it. i haven't exactly been in touch with cosmic reality or anything recently, but Dante's Italian sounds beautiful.

whee, petty news of pettiness! of course, that's what livejournal's for anyway.

i thought "petty" meant "vindictive over trivial things." i see triviality, but no vindictiveness here ;)

i understand petty as meaning minor, trivial, and self-centered enough to be of no interest to anyone else; it can also refer to a minor military officer. american heritage sees it as being
1. Of small importance; trivial.
2. Marked by narrowness of mind, ideas, or views.
3. Marked by meanness or lack of generosity, especially in trifling matters.
4. Secondary in importance or rank; subordinate.

nice crotch shot, btw.

not THAT nice. that's Mana, the lead singer of the band Malice Mizer. i've never heard their music (nor do I think I'd particularly like it), but you should do a search for pix of the guy, since he's the sexiest transvestite of all time (http://www.isomerica.net/~electricwalrus/mana.jpg).

i'm listening to _mister heartbreak_ right now.

Would you be interested in meeting up in Harvard Square on Saturday, perhaps?
