So LJ finally works again for me. I'm almost too tired and frustrated at it and at the world in general to celebrate.
*sighs*
Many things I wanted to post, but I really don't feel like playing catchup, so instead I will simply cookie.
He trembled under the lightest touch, and parted his lips with faint little sighs, as if he had been tuned to sing under my fingertips like ringing crystal. My touch was light upon him, for I did not dare otherwise, and his pale skin seemed as delicate as thin-blown glass. Spread nude and langorous beneath me, impossibly--to my eye--long-limbed and slender, he seemed more an apparition and a supernatural thing than I have ever felt, and I measured my own duck-down hair against that staggering length of shining auburn that curled around him and found myself lacking. As I was dragged down by my own mortality, he transcended his, and for a long moment I feared I would break into weeping.
The moment passed when I noticed him watching me, a sort of dizzy hunger in his eyes, and I quailed in light of my own self-derision.
"Tam," he whispered.
With a sort of recklessness I could only suppose I'd absorbed from him, I reached up and slid off his spectacles, carefully setting the delicate gold frames on the table, and he was near blinded.
"Tam..."
I knew how poor his eyes were, but some species of cruelty compelled me to leave him without the gift of clear sight and kiss him instead, and he responded with willing silence and butterfly brushes of lips.
