Of the OCs in "A Lexicon of Serpents." There are 23. And I haven't even named all the spare prefects and possible professors yet, and there might be another Quidditch team or two to fill.

Of course, most of them are petty background characters, and I've cheated by making at least half of them relations of somebody, and there is perhaps one who will play even the faintest role in the plot, and that's only because she currently has Alastor at wandpoint. (Tiger, behave!) But they are at least half real to me, and fill the halls of Hogwarts, and fill me with a t00by joy.

*t00bs around having t00by joy, and exceeds her double-zero limit for this post*

Oh, who else thinks Cornelius Fudge and Bartemius Crouch (Sr.) would be at Hogwarts about this time? Because they would so be in Slytherin. Hee. Cameos!

How is making them related to people cheating? I always figured people have relatives. Especially Slytherins who are so into bloodlines and all.

OC's are great, I love cool new OC's. I don't know about the house assignments. I see Fudge as a Slythie maybe, but Crouch-- an evil Gryffindor. He reminds me of an Inquisitor. Of course I am seeing them thru my AU-filters, and in my AU they are evil as hell.

Well, obviously people do have ancestors. *rolls eyes at self* But I get a bit wibbly when there are many, many familiar names flying around. Particularly on the Gryff/Huffle/Raven sides, as they're more likely to have Muggle-borns or families we haven't heard of.

It'll probably even out once I come up with a few more prefects.

When I considered Crouch's attitude towards status, how much he wanted just to save the Ministry's face and his own, I immediately considered him a Slyth. Although I'm now intrigued by the inquisitor aspect, the Gryffindor aspect. Maybe even Hufflepuff. They seem the most likely to be overwhelmed by the concept of Goodness and Light, after all, being loyal and hard-working and humble and all. Or maybe I'm being too influenced by reading about Puritans.

But now I have ideas. Still think Crouch himself is Slyth, but I've got ideas. *mumbles*

Hm. I wonder if you'll like Tiger, if she winds up with enough screen time...

Well, I'm definitely looking forward to finding out, and yes, this is a hint.
