First off, remember Ye Olde Skyehawke Archive? Yaknow, the supposed main archive of all my fic, which, around the time of the Arcana Viscera trauma, I kept not getting around to updating?
I updated it. XD (Edit: forgot to mention: not only did I upload ten new or new-ish fics, I also redid all the tags on the old ones to streamline summaries and take advantage of new features like author's notes, automatic warnings, and, in one fandom at least, characters. Whee, obsessiveness! Now off to rewrite my profile.)
Uploaded:
- The Finest Golden Brain (HP: Percy/Lucius mindfuckery)
- Scalded (FMA: Roy/Ed)
- Ignited (FMA: sequel to "Scalded")
- Running Strong (FMA: kickass AU Roze)
- Dominance Struggles (FMA: Roy/Ed crack)
- Long Wooden Objects (Kenshin: crack, first public posting)
- Lines (FFX: Jecht/Auron preslash)
- Land of the Living (FFX: angsty gen)
- the multiplication table (PGSM: like you haven't heard enough about this recently)
...and, last but not least:
I wear my Tucker icon in honor of finally bringing Arcana Viscera to Skyehawke. Whee!
Edit: Sum total of words of fic between my two Skyehawke accounts? 155,322! I rock. 55,651 of those are on the Myst-only account (with 5 fics and 1 7-fic series), and the other 99,671 are in all the other fandoms (with 31 fics, 1 multi-chapter WIP, 1 15-fic series, and 2 collections of challenge ficlets). Counting the multi-chapter WIP and the two coherent series as single fics apieces, and entirely discounting the collections of challenge ficlets due to being confusing to count, that averages to 3,669 words per fic overall, with an average of 9,275 words per fic in the Myst category, and an average of 2,848 words per fic in the Everything Else category.
...everyone else seems to be doing statistics. Why not me?
On the downside, while I was going through my files on my computer pulling out things that only needed a quick polish and coding (or in some cases a moment of "fuck this I don't care"), I've done a lot of facing of facts. Like the fact that, of the perhaps 50-odd WIPs and dribs and drabs and bunnies I had in various fandoms, I'm probably going to finish, er, maybe three or four? And most of those bunnies are long, long dead? Especially since I'm trying to regain and redevelop my voice after a year plus of nigh-solid block, and the load of Things I Want To Write is getting crippling? (Getting? Has been for years.)
Siiiiiiigh.
So I'm going to have to do this, with many apologies. The slate's getting illegibly full; I need to do some wiping.
Unless you see it on this list, any WIP you've read parts of or heard me mention is officially abandoned. The chances of my finishing it are extremely low. Heck, I'm not optimistic about the ones marked with minuses on the WIPlist either.
Yes, this includes the fic series that "Scalded" and "Ignited" were parts of, the giant Hughes/Roy/Ed threesome of doom, "A Lexicon of Serpents," a whole scad of challenge and birthday and personal request fics (I'm especially sorry for those), and god only knows what else.
I'm sorry, guys. The whole mess was starting to drive me nuts. The selection of WIPs I've chosen to retain hope on was entirely personal--things I think might still be alive, things which I have just too much investment in--and I know some folks are going to be pissed. But...
Gah. There. Did it.

Date: Jan. 16th, 2007 07:46 am (UTC)I've actually done it more than once (there's a series I did over in the Myst fandom which is rather longer), and attempted it many more times. A couple of my current just-maybe-one-day-I'll-manage-it WIPs are of a similar size, though none in FMA. The perils of being a fandom whore!
Unless you mean scope in a different way than simple size...
Thank you again!
