Con attendance: I will be in at least partial attendance of both the Winter Fetish Flea and Arisia, and full attendance of Intercon (a while from now, admittedly.) In all cases [livejournal.com profile] yunatwilight will be with me, although at the FFF and Arisia she will be rather reclusive due to her job sucking donkey balls.

The relevant bit for youse guys: We have a room at none of these events. Ergo, I am willing to function as a con taxi for local peeps, assuming similar schedules.

At the FFF, I'll probably [I believe I'm still signed up! Free admission, here we come!] be volunteering again at the MOB table, most likely selling stuff, including a promotional calendar with my girlfriend's ass in it. Yay! Also, since I know peeps asked last FFF around, there will indeed be a tag sale this time. Apparently this is a tag sale of Joy. Other than being chained to the MOB table, I shall be trolling for friends and a comfy pair of wrist cuffs that fit teensy me, and resisting the urge to stalk the Twisted Monk.

At Arisia, I will probably mostly be ogling pretty and resisting the urge to stalk any old friends from high school years who might be there.

At Intercon, I am playing in Contracts and World's End, and currently have the rest of my schedule open for pick-up games and sleep (and doubtless helping my girlfriend write frantically).

In other news:

- Accomplished a major bit of magical healing on myself yesterday while my familiar was asleep from lack of energy and my girlfriend was deeply depressed and collapsing atop me. It requires maintanance, and I seriously need to find somebody who can fix that chakra already.

- Discovered that I have a considerably larger toppy side than I thought, but only after a particular bit of energy-drawing. Also discovered at the same time that my girlfriend has *two* areas of subspace, and in one she has considerably higher pain tolerance. I threw out my shoulder on that wench. Want to write more about this, but will be sex-filtered.

- When we were both lolling yesterday--she after depression, me after metaphysical self-performed surgery--she suggested watching something, went for the anime folder, and pulled out, at random, Kyou Kara Maou, knowing nothing about it. What did we get? Best gay anime crack ever. Exactly what we needed. Cute schoolboy gets transported (during a swirlie) to alternate world where he's a demon king. During a tiff with a fellow--very, very pretty--nobleman, he slaps him across the left cheek, which turns out to be a proposal of marriage. The rest of his entourage includes an adorably overprotective fellow who's clearly in love with him, a surly gentleman who indulges in Evil Knitting* to soothe his soul, a large and muscly redhead who likes to do drag during covert operations, and a straight man, at least in comedic function if not orientation.

Screw it. I require visual aides. Our protagonist's fiance:

YES, THAT'S A BOY. And, yes, that's his nightie. And, yes, he's a short-tempered and macho demon nobleman and warrior who casts nifty fire spells. <3 Wolfram.

Edit: Forgot to mention our protagonist's soul-eating demonic sword with a skull on the hilt that leches after the palace maids. With heart eyes. In the skull. And that this is a fairly functional, if relatively light-hearted, fantasy political intrigue anime. With plot. Just with most of the usual heterosexual soap opera replaced with homosexual soap opera. Huzzah!

*Admittedly there is no indication that either the gentleman or the knitting in question is Evil. But given the intense and wrinkly frown with which he performs it, and the fact that he knits small cute animals, the term seems highly applicable. Besides. Evil Knitting! How could I resist?

Did we give you Kyou Kara Maou, or did you two get it from somewhere else? Cat and I have loved that series and we've been collecting it as quickly as it has been becoming available. :)

I'd have to ask Cyn--she mentioned it was a gift from somebody, though I don't think it was you...

Is it getting an official US release? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised; it wouldn't be the only shounen-ai that has.

I believe it has gotten an official release, though honestly? I don't trust them to sub-title it correctly, and I'm afraid of what the dubbing would be like.

We have about another ten (or more) episodes since we sent that out to you. We're up to episode 74. How many do you have? We could send more.

I'm glad you two are enjoying the series. :) It gets serious on a lot of places, but I've been enjoying the series a lot. :) Admittedly, this is one of my favourite anime series of all time.

That you two are enjoying it that much warms my heart. :)

^_^

[livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard's analysis of Scrapped Princess applies here, I think: it's not so much a comedy anime as a serious anime with a lot of comic relief.

And so many pretty men. I think I'm becoming a bishounen addict.

I'm going to Arisia, too! I'm poor, though, so I'm volunteering with the young 'uns for a free pass.

Yey! I shall be seeing you there, then! for it has been too long! When you are not buried in small children, that is.

Will you have a Wren in tow, or just you?

Date: Jan. 2nd, 2007 07:35 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] boblovesmusic.livejournal.com
No you shall not see a Wren! For he doesn't like science fiction and has no interest in going to science fiction conventions!

Just kidding!

If you believe the above statement, I'm sorry!

hehe

I need to find a uniform before that!

Mmm, gotta love a man in uniform. XD

If I can't find a uniform, at least I'll go as Contrapuntal Man...

Which actually isn't a bad idea!
hehe

also: I eventually made it out to Burlington, MA for some metal purchasing. I got some great stuff! I'm still curious what you got!

Also: Remind me to burn a CD of Blind Guardian! They are muy awesome!

He'll be there. He wants to volunteer too, though probably not with the small children.

Hah, I am easily influenced.

Thanks to you, I am now watching the first episode on Youtube and am downloading the series.

...this is bishounen-filled candy crack. Oh my god.

woe, I will be back at school by FFF. :'/

You and I need to get together sometime before I return to Salem. Yes yes.

Yesyes! What be your schedule this week?

Date: Jan. 3rd, 2007 02:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mentalhygiene.livejournal.com
Well, tomorrow I'll be in Cambridge (Central Square) after noon, and probably on my bike. (this just means I wouldn't be able to go much further than central square). Thursday I'm free most of the day, and Friday and Saturday all day.

Date: Jan. 3rd, 2007 03:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] wired-lizard.livejournal.com
I could be in Central later afternoon--like about 5-ish. Too late? Friday I'm available anytime again after 5-ish.

Date: Jan. 3rd, 2007 03:46 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mentalhygiene.livejournal.com
Oooh. Not too late, I can hang out in Central for a while. :) Any place you want to meet? Shall I wander around until I sight red hair? ;)

Pandemonium, perhaps? Or Pearl? (Though Pearl's biiiig...)

Do you have a cellphone I could call? My arrival time is going to be rather unpredictable, as it depends upon two forces of nature (traffic on 128 and my girlfriend, who does not often get out the door on time).

I'll aim for Pearl when I come in--heck, I'll probably be in the parking lot behind it--and I'll call. (Screened your number, since this is a public post. :)) See you soon!
