...goddamnit, [livejournal.com profile] hopechan made me crave bubble tea. And there's no bubble tea for at least thirty miles--that's assuming Boston has some. It must somewhere, right? I mean, it's Boston...

Every time I browse various BDSM sites, I want to move to Seattle. It seems like they have the most overflowingly productive and joyful kinkster community evah.

*googles*

Score! (Note for the wary: link has everything to do with bubble tea and nothing to do with kinky sex, unless of course you think the two are connected.)

In the past twenty-four hours, I've learned that I fail at knitting lace, my Law & Order obsession is waning, and I look bad in pastels.

I will shortly be the proud owner (albeit illegally) of more Blue Öyster Cult.

I believe that is all.

Boston and Cambridge are much with the bubble tea. You can get it all over the place (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=bubble+tea+boston+cambridge&btnG=Google+Search). Super 88 (http://www.boston.com/dining/restaurant/1097) has a good kiosk if you're around BU way.

w00t, thank you! XD

...and I also totally didn't realize until now that you live in Massachusetts. o.O

That list is pretty far from being comprehensive, too. There are dozens of places not on the list. Heck, I can think of three off the top of my head - Super 88, a weird little food court sort of thing in Chinatown, and Souper Bowl in Amherst.

I figured it might be, but I took it as a good sign. XD

See, I hadn't heard of bubble tea until I happened across it in Canada, so for the longest time I thought it was just a Canadian thing. So I tend to think of it as a rarity in the states, and be surprised every time I hear of it.

Move out to Minneapolis. I can help set you up with a place and we can have all kinds of kinky conversations. ^__^

You do realize that's a sizable portion of the reason Minneapolis is on my List Of Places I Want To Move To If I Decide To Leave Boston? XD

No, I hadn't. *surprised* Yaaaaaaay~! *snuggles*

DAMMIT, BUBBLE TEA. COME TO ME, DELICIOUS BOBA.

Now I want to change the text on this icon to read BUBBLE TEA!

Though every time I see Boba there's a part of me that wants to yell back "Fett!" I can't help it!

Bubble tea in Porter Exchange, oh, yes. All over Chinatown, in most of the little bakeries and coffee shops. Dado, in Harvard and Central Squares. Akycha is trying to remember others. But yes, bubble tea, in Boston, yes.

Blue Oyster Cult?

Oo, will have to go looking for Dado especially. Harvard Square's a stomping ground of mine since high school, but I still don't know a lot of what's there; and I keep meaning to explore Central further, especially as Pandemonium's moved there. Thank you! XD

Blue Oyster Cult = terminally odd yet relatively mainstream metal band from...I want to say primarily the seventies, early eighties? I'm fuzzy on my pop music history, especially as I wasn't alive for most of it. They're most known for "Don't Fear the Reaper," although the song title that's currently amusing me is "Flaming Telepaths"; some of their lyrics were written by Michael Moorcock; both sci-fi and BDSM pop up at unexpected points in their music; and they do, indeed, have a song about Godzilla.

Ah, yes, was having brain hiccough. I think my second college boyfriend introduced me to BOC -- I've still got a mix tape he made for me somewhere. He was very into it because of the Moorcock associations, and thought I'd enjoy them because of them too.

I think my fave is "Veteran of the Psychic Wars."

You un-Washed your journal! Wah!

I'm just here to tell you that you looked fantastic in that dress. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You looked very soft and innocent, but hey. That can work to your advantage sometimes.

Well, the Wash didn't go with the new layout.

I was telling me otherwise. XP Mostly it was the uncontrollable floof of fabric beneath the high waistline--I'm plump enough as is, don't need to look pregnant. Beyond that...I hate the colors, and I still think they're a little too pale in general, washed me out. But it was livable--except, of course, that it used to be my mother's, and dressing like her just disturbs me.

Dunno, I met some really cool people today, and I'm really disappointed to be missing Endorphin this Thursday night at 9:00 at Axis, $20 at the door or $10 if in scene clothes. ;)

...why, why did Dave have to schedule me regularly on Thursdays?

Not that I know a club from a train stop, sadly. I just don't get out enough. Though when I get my license, that will, I hope, change. :)

Sorry. :/ I'm missing it too, though it's for happy reasons. I have other obligations that are of paramount importance. :)

Well, that definitely sounds worth it then! ;) Enjoy your obligations!

Next time I'm in Boston and you can get into town, Riv and I need to drag you to Porter Exchange. All sorts of inexpensive authentic Asian food, bubble tea, and a crepe stand!

Just to note, a reasonably-priced Chinese restaurant that delivers to our door has 10+ flavors of bubble tea, and yes, they deliver that, too.
