....and the new mouse I just bought (because my old one is dying) is the ONLY trackball with scrollwheel and without the ball under the thumb (because I'd like my hands to get better, not worse, kthnxbi) that I have EVER found ANYWHERE...and the software is OS9.

The sweet sound of wasting forty bucks that I REALLY COULDN'T AFFORD TO HAVE SPENT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

The new speakers aren't bad. Cheap, too, unlike the mouse.

But my fucking mouse doesn't work and I can't find my fucking learner's permit to drive tomorrow and I'm going to run out of fucking yarn by only about ten or fifteen rows before I finish heavenscalyx's present and FUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCKKKKKKKKKKK.

*screams incoherently, except not, because god forbid one should make NOISE or express EMOTION in this fucking house*

You can't return the rat? And.. isn't it USB? USB mice don't usually need special software, IME. What model is it?

It's USB, but I don't think the scrollwheel and extra buttons will work without the software, and the scrollwheel (which I an consistently mistyping as shrollwhell) is the whole reason I shelled out extra anyway. :/

'Twas from Amazon. Dunno about returning it yet. I'm mostly just emoing all over the place again, which I really should stop doing, but I have nothing else to say anymore.

You should still try plugging it in and see if it goes. I'm pretty sure that things will work out of the box. You'll need another app if you want to configure the extra buttons to call up Exposé and whatnot, but any app that supports multiple buttons should just work.
