Happy Bird Day to you!
Happy Bird Day to you!
Happy Bird Day, my dear friends *
Happy Bird Day to youuuuuuu!
[ * those who are in the States, that is. rest can just laugh at us and our turkeys. ]
Got dragged to the local interfaith Thanksgiving service at the local Catholic church, which resulted in the memorable sight of our Very Jewish Cantor (by Reform standards, at any rate), in black robe and Fringe, singing the closing blessing to the service splat in front of the Very Medieval Crucifix.
Other than that, not much news. Except that I keep wishing some of my more ambery or fruity imps had arrived as of yet to wear for Bird Day. I've got nothing straight up autumny, and everything is too floral or wispy or, alternately, dark, except for O, which I cannot in good conscience wear in front of relatives and small children (even other people's relatives, as I'm going to the GF's for the Bird), and Kali, which I'm sticking too out of default. (Kali's really pale and acrid for the first, oh, five minutes, but quickly mellows on my skin to something dark and rich and vaguely chocolaty and vaguely fruity, which seems a good Feasty Scent.)

Date: Nov. 25th, 2005 04:57 am (UTC)Regarding straight-up autumny BPAL, have you tried Samhain? I have two imps of the 04 version, and I swear, if I could smell just one smell for the rest of my life...this would be it. OMG. I've sniffed the 05 version (and am waiting for my bottle from the lab), and it's different, but really good. Autumn in a bottle!
And re: ambery imps. Do you want an imp of The Lion? I was desperately seeking it and ended up with two, and it isn't as great on me as I was hoping it would be. I like it, but it's not an OMG NEED TONS scent. So, I'd be happy to send one of mine along. My email is aldalindil22 AT yahoo DOT com --just send me your mailing address if you're interested. :)

Date: Nov. 26th, 2005 04:27 am (UTC)I DO want an imp of the Lion, and I have an order pending, but I'd rather cancel that because it was overseas and the shipping...*twitch* (Was desperate for one.) Sorry for delay; was kinda falling off the face of the 'net due to bird day and personal shit.

Date: Nov. 27th, 2005 04:25 am (UTC)But yeah, I hear you on the LEs. Though that hasn't stopped me from getting imps of a few and really liking them. I did get lucky, though. Miskatonic University, which I thought I would love and smells like heaven in the imp (and is hard to get), turned to the nastiest burnt-plastic smell on my skin. So...yay?

Well, if it's not too late to cancel, go ahead, then just send me your address and I'll get it right out as a gift imp. :)
