But I'm trying to get a complete first draft by tomorrow so I can see girlfriend off to Smith Friday night and Saturday, then back home to polish up something vaguely presentable and send it off to Devi. And then I can, y'know, exist again, read all your fic, stop lurking in people's cellars and babbling about bio-alchemy...it'll be good.

To lykomancer: I've got something from an alchemical catechism I found on the sacred texts archive, but do you have any interesting and memorable quotes about quicksilver from Paracelsus lying about?

To alchemy geeks in general: anyone know anything about the significance of the golden tripod? I've gathered that the Delphi oracle sat on a golden tripod and there was some important bit of sculpture (with serpents!) in Venice that got destroyed, but I still can't figure out what it's doing in an alchemy exam. Probably irrelevant, but it's bugging me.
