letterblade: (myst)

Contemplating myself, my art, and their relationships to the world, as usual. But given that I'm none too good at perceiving anything beyond myself, I need help.

People in the Myst fandom: the new DMVs: genuinely better or distressingly Lucasized?

..."DMVs"?

I've read the originals and the revised.

The revised are truly better; you've gone over them with a more refined writing style. The descriptions are more vivid, the characterizations even more real (if that's possible), and the whole thing is just sooo much better (if that's possible.

I have just learned that derivative fiction can occasionally be the catalist for publishers to release new translations of classics that have a sudden jump in popularity due to derivative novel, movie, or other influence.

Gods do we need more artists out there now more than ever. Don't stop. Don't ever stop.
