You know you're researching something obscure when your biggest sources are an encyclopedia article and a Neil Gaiman novel.

Unfortunately I'm flagging already.

*attempts to keep self going with J.A. Seazer*

Bah. I should get out of the habit of spamming LJ with useless information when I'm sleep-deprived and stressed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOMMIE!

There we go.

Whee, thanks! : >

I find that the best resource when searching something obscure is the Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org)

I've been avoiding online sources mainly for reliability issues. With some other subjects and with mythologies I'm relatively familiar with (the topic in question is Slavic mythology, particularly primeval Russian rituals that Stravinsky and Roerich might have been drawing upon in the creation of Le Sacre du Printemps) I'm comfortable, but with an unfamiliar mythology I'm very nervous, as my experience with online myth sources is that they're often not as authentic as they could be. And I trust the Wiki more than some others, but still...

Er. Sorry. Tendency to babble about the topic at hand. o.O

Now I am curious. What are you researching?

*points to above reply*

Slavic mythology, particularly anything related to the rituals in Le Sacre du Printemps. It's for my music class.

Stupid Christians, stomping out all good records of the pagans before we even knew who they were. -.-

Addendum: and this is with the Bennington library, which is really rather not great, and on a short enough time span (okay, I procrastinated) that I haven't been able to ILL anything. Otherwise I might have more. And if I can convince Allen to let me continue this work for my final paper, I will.

So as far as obscure Gaiman novel referneces, would this be the kobold thing? Or Czernobog? Or something else entirely?
