Where the hell did this pasted on thing come from anyway? Nipple pasties?

Hem.

So I'm back at school, battling the administration, etc. etc. Doing pretty well so far; at the moment exhausted. Rejoicing in having internet on own computer.

Personal life jumping about like a goat the past few weeks. (LJ-mascot inspired metaphors, w00t.) More on that later.

Classes: Bruno Schulz, lyric essays, acting with a focus on text and voice and Shakespeare, introductory Japanese (may change that to something else). More when I've had them.

Maine was great.

Too tired to write much of anything, but figured I should update, since it's been way too long. I look at my friendslist and consider my relationships with most of you and find them crawling with ivy.

Flop.

But I may not have much in the way of fandom time this term, not with this senior project.

Off to meet me some frosch.

It's a fandom wank thing - they were mocking someone's photo manips, 'my hed is pastede on yay'. Blah blah.

Pastede on yey: Lord of the Rings fandom. Photo manips of one of the actors. His head was pasted[e] onto somebody else's body. Insert fangirly mocking, AKA "my hed iz pastede on yey!"

And thus the fan sublanguage begot the subsublanguage. And it was dense.

Good luck with the back-to-school-ness. Is most busymaking.

Were you finding frogs or freshmen? Or practicing your transfiguration?

My favourite "pastede on" creation was this icon by [livejournal.com profile] ludditerobot:

(which I puzzled over for, like, six hours before figuring it out). And interestingly he had no idea as to the meme's antecedents either. Oh brave new world.
