letterblade: (my hero)
[personal profile] letterblade
I'm in full all-nighter paper mood, and thus will likely be spamming your eyes out. Hence my attempt to put a lot of it in one post and get it over with.

A few minutes at the Pit of Voles has given me the following information: the Volish end of the Utena fandom has eschewed the slash. And I mean literally. It's no longer U/A or U/T. It's UA or UT. It's no longer Saionji/Wakaba. It's SaionjiWakaba. And this isn't just a few authors; this is every summary I recall seeing in the first two pages of the section. I don't know whether to find this amusing or frightening. Probably more the latter, given what it implies about punctuation dropping out of use. Eats, shoots and leaves, my ass.

In my own spate of dorkiness, I now have a quite nice black rose. Still smells strongly of Sharpie though. Perhaps should give it a bath in diluted lavender oil.

(You know, that would explain why Mikage's so out of it. He was really just hopped up on Sharpie fumes the entire time.)

I was in a fashion show! Pictures and stories to be posted when I have more time to trim them down and upload them etc.

I love the way Snooch in Two Lumps meows. Hence my "music." Mow! Mow! Mow!

I should start existing again. It's kinda fun. But I need to finish my paper first--my paper in which I quote [livejournal.com profile] pogrebin, and which I will be supplementing, if brave enough, with a crossover between The Sandman and Cynthia Ozick's The Messiah of Stockholm. (Both to be posted when I finish, I'm sure.)

Got caught up in a bit of Ozy and Millie rereading earlier. And Llewellyn is still my hero. Probably my primary hero, really--he's magnificent. My heroes tend to be extremely sporky and extremely intelligent. Llewellyn, Albus Dumbledore, Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, people like that. Jack Sparrow kinda counts--at least he's got the spork down pat.

"That which does not kill me makes me stranger."

"MOW!"

That is your wisdom from webcomics for the day.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] sepdet is apparently in a state vaguely resembling existence, and might even pop by MC for a bit! Do you know how squee this makes me?

Speaking of disappearing anchors of entire subfandoms for whom myloveandadmirationwassopure, has anyone heard a peep from [livejournal.com profile] switchknife? It will be so sad if she is gone forever...

*eyes poor little Utena fandom*

I feel like I want to do something big for this fandom, and I mean bigger than writing drabbles and mindfucking poor Miki. I want to become its BNF. Heck, I want to become its prince.

*twitch*

The problem is, I can never stick with one fandom for more than a year utter max. I'm too capricious. And I do want to get a life someday soon.

Mow.

I believe, on the pit of voles, it is the volemaster's--programming--or whatever that makes the "/" disappear. It may be in the summary itself when the author writes the summary but will not appear on the final product. (e.g., I wrote a story that was warned as "slash/incest" and came out "slashincest")

Now I know why I never got an account there.

...o.O

I wonder if this is some subliminal jab at the / writers or just plain stupidity. Most distressing, either way.

(Dude, do you want a Skyehawke (http://www.skyehawke.com) account? You so deserve one.)

It's general stupidity on Xing's part. He's gone on some sort of anti-things that aren't in the alphabet campaign. The slashes have been deleted from summaries for a long time now (so have quotation marks), but now asterisks are a big no-no, too.

Well, there go my scene breaks. x.X

(This is one of those times when I wish I didn't write for tiny fandoms that use FF.net as their main archive, most-frequently-updated archive.)

[grins] I know the feeling. I mean, I've been drifting in and out of the fandom since 1999 and I can't help but think: "Now, girl, why the HELL haven't you tried to do anything big? No-one knows who you are and you KNOW you want people to invoke your name with reverence and awe!"

I obviously need more sleep.

...and this is all Mikage's fault. Him and his damn sharpies...

Er, I invoked your name with reverence and awe when I first met you.

:-P

I think everything is Mikage's fault where we're concerned. (Except possibly when it's Akio's, because really, everything is Akio's fault.)

(I'm becoming more and more convinced this anime is all about the mundane and silly explanations. Sharpie fumes. The projector going haywire because Akio is drunk and causing such matters as the cow incident.)

Trust me. If you can explain episode 27, there will be much reverence and awe. ;-)

(Argh. I suppose I should have warned you that I'm a terrible WIPtease.)

Did you? And I missed it? ARGH!

...there is no hope for me. At all. [sigh]

As for episode twenty-seven...nyargh, I have an entire DRAFT for that essay (even though it runs off on a million tangents and is more about Nanami's personality in general than just her strange little egg...). However, when the explanatory essay makes as much sense as did the original source material...goddamn. [scratches head] It's almost easier to write weird and wacky fic.

Almost.

Speaking of WIP...YOU SEE THIS??? I KNOW YOU SEE THIS!!! (http://www.livejournal.com/users/wired_lizard/150395.html#cutid1)

...arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh....
