fan_the_vote again:
I only just thought of another thing I can do.
For all you anime fans out there: ever wanted to sing along to your favorite opening or BGM but never managed to learn the Japanese? Well, there are these wonderful things called singing translations--English that matches the rhythm, so you can sing.
Disclaimers: I've only done this once so far, though I'm pleased with the results, and it's something I plan to keep experimenting in whether or not anyone buys into it here. I don't know Japanese; you'll have to provide an existing translation. I can't guarantee literal accuracy--such things are terribly rare in singing translations--and rhyming is not my strong point, though it seems to be rarer in Japanese than in English, so I have something of an excuse to not worry about it. But what I can do is make--with luck, though some rhythms are difficult to accomodate to--a nice-sounding and interesting English lyric that fits with the original melody.
If it's an anime I don't know or don't have the soundtracks to, I will need an mp3, but I'm sure we can figure out some way to get it from here to there.
Probably $4-$10, depending on the song--length, complexity, that sort of thing. Also if it's an opening or closing theme and you just want me to do the section they use in the show, that would be rather less than the whole thing, as those tend to be long songs that they only use one verse and a chorus of.
I could also do this with other languages, as long as a translation and an mp3 is provided, though it helps if it's a language I can at least pronounce and have some experience singing in so I can get more of a feel for the original rhythm. (Latin, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Swedish, Finnish, Hebrew, and Japanese are, I think, it. That's a depressingly short list.)
