So a batch of my Bennington friends and our two guests LARPed yesterday. And it was magnificent fun, at least for me. Except for when I got my hand whapped during a quarterstaff fight--my dominant hand, no less. (Big bloodblister on my thumb, and swelling in my first two fingers and vaguely infected shit about the tip of my forefinger.) Which means I'm typing painfully slowly, which means I'll have to be scanty on the details. But I was so wonderfully deep into my character, this lame vagabond exiled monk in his sixties. I wish I could describe what it felt like to, upon hearing something terribly important to him, begin crying, and in a way I myself never cry. Distantly aware in the back of my mind as myself what was happening, that I was Tarsius, that he was crying, but nothing more than that between myself and the story.

I do need to update more often. So much I wish to say. But at the moment, life is terribly good.

Off to Wal-fart. *pries self away from new duel chori*

Yay! It's always good to get so deeply into the role that it takes over and leads you to new places - it's a wonderful feeling, though often a little frightening.
I'm sorry to hear that you were hurt, though - doubly depressing when it's the hands that type that Miki yaoi-ific fic of yours. (Yes, I love fics where my favourite characters are tortured, and why yes, Miki just happens to be my favourite, how did you guess? *grin*)

Though it actually is close to send-off--quite close, really. It's mostly a matter of pre-beta revision--I just plain cut the scene that was bugging me, but I think that means I need to change the tone, just pare down on the non-dialogue description, in two of the remaining scenes. But meep.

It's up to you, I suppose. (And thank you, for I haven't thanked you yet! Much uncommunication on my part these days. But you seem like you would be a good beta, and one who would enjoy the fic.) Whether you want it before or after my final wibbly nitpicky revision. It's mainly a structure-and-balance thing, really, and I'm going to be wibbling about the structure anyway...

And now I have my LARP character hanging about in my head demanding that I write his story. But that can be for class--I need to turn in a full-length story soon anyway....

Oooh, almost ready? *does the happy happy joy joy dance* Yes, sometimes a scene just won't work and in the long run, cutting it out is the best thing to do.

Hey, no problem - I'd genuinely enjoy being a beta for this fic. ^_____^ As for when... you mentioned that you wanted a beta mainly for the characterisation, right? In which case, probably it might be a good idea to revise the rest of it to your satisfaction, and I'll give some comments about the structure etc as well. How does that sound?
