Feb. 13th, 2003 07:45 amIcon of the moment: Too much fun with layers; me, solarized; gratuitous Sisters of Mercy quote; just in time for anti-Valentine's-day.
Missing: guava paste. Haven't had it in a while.
Author of the moment: Icarus. Author of "A Moment of Sin," which I've seen recced before, and the Harry/Ron that even McTabby liked, and the best damn twincest I've ever read.
Fic of the moment: Unprofessional Behavior. Post-Hogwarts. Barkeep!Terence Higgs, Drunk!Percy Weasley.
Quote from the fic of the moment: "You, you-- " Percy had gone white. His hair looked like flame against his skin. "I don' see how you're any one to talk. Fred an' George told me about what you Slytherins did before your games."
"That was just ordinary team bonding! Experimentation!"
"It's not ordinary experimentashun when you're givin' a blow job to Adrian Pucey."
"It is so."
"Is not."
Wrote: another part of chapter 2 of LoS. It's aliiiiiiive!
Contemplated: icons, and my LJ layout graphics and how Photoshop might make them prettier.
Hugs:
cedar85.
Feeling I'm possessed by:
fasterthanlight.
Finished reading: Narcissus In Chains. Fun, though not as good as some others in the series. Micah is hot, Gilbert is adorable, and gender-bending werehyenas rock.
Photoshop: is a minor deity. So is Mozart's requiem.

Just turning into a photoshop geek, but, yes, it's amazing what you can do with lens flare (http://isomerica.net/~mlah/temp/star.jpg). ;-)

Have you discovered yet the odd things (http://www.doyourthing.org/slytherclaw/flo.jpg) you can do with a good copy of Eyecandy?

Date: Feb. 13th, 2003 10:53 pm (UTC)You liked my Twincest? Wooooonderful. I was really worried about the reception it would get. My beta liked it, but she was slightly squicked by twincest in general I think.

Date: Feb. 14th, 2003 04:46 am (UTC)I read Sweet Hypocrisy a bit back, when it first showed up at RS.org, because I read anything Snape/Percy. And it was most excellent.
There are also a few Snape/Percy fics at the SSFQ (http://www.sockiipress.org/~luthien/snapeff/index.html), scattered through the archives. And
Yeah, Percy is yummy. ;-)
And I loved your twincest. I have a weak spot for the pairing in general (all other incest squicks me, but not them, for whatever reason), found that, read it, and said, "Why the hell isn't all F/G like this? They aren't angsting, they aren't twisted, they're bloody Fred and George!" And laughed my ass off.
In other words, exactly the reason you wrote it. ;-)
Whoa, long post for no coffee time. *staggers off to work*
Duck duck carburetor squeeeee!

There's some good FredandGeorge angst out there, I just don't understand why it's the majority of the twincest! I mean, isn't the attraction how much fun they are? It's brief, but Telanu's befuddled twins in-that-fic-that-comes-just-before-'Corresponding' are a great example of a good FredandGeorge. Calling themselves 'stately homos of old England' and 'but I should let you know, I have it on excellent authority that I'm a much better kisser than Fred is.' LOL!

Date: Feb. 14th, 2003 10:49 am (UTC)Percy was just starting to show a slightly different side of himself, and then lights went out. Not to mention I like your OC, lazy Slytherins indeed, and feel the chemistry between Terence and Percy deserves more play.

Date: Feb. 14th, 2003 11:25 am (UTC)I guess, um . . . *looks embarrassed* . . . NC-17 is hard to write. Especially straightforward sex, and by the end of "Unprofessional Behaviour" the conflict has been temporarily resolved. (That is, Terence is going to lie back and let Percy make him come.) The really interesting stuff is going to be the next morning, when Percy sobers up. And then you're getting into plot, and probably Percy's point of view, with all the difficulties that entails.
And I'm not sure I'm ready to write Percy epic yet. That's, like, commitment.
You're both right about Fred/ George, by the way. Hurrah for the sane but evil pairing!

*bunny nibbles* Thankees!
I'm trying to remember whether I've read that, or whether I'm thinking of something else involving that line--first met "stately homos of Old England" in Sandman, and it is such an excellent phrase. Twins, stately, indeed. ;-)
