Icon of the moment: Too much fun with layers; me, solarized; gratuitous Sisters of Mercy quote; just in time for anti-Valentine's-day.

Missing: guava paste. Haven't had it in a while.

Author of the moment: Icarus. Author of "A Moment of Sin," which I've seen recced before, and the Harry/Ron that even McTabby liked, and the best damn twincest I've ever read.

Fic of the moment: Unprofessional Behavior. Post-Hogwarts. Barkeep!Terence Higgs, Drunk!Percy Weasley.

Quote from the fic of the moment: "You, you-- " Percy had gone white. His hair looked like flame against his skin. "I don' see how you're any one to talk. Fred an' George told me about what you Slytherins did before your games."

"That was just ordinary team bonding! Experimentation!"

"It's not ordinary experimentashun when you're givin' a blow job to Adrian Pucey."

"It is so."

"Is not."

Wrote: another part of chapter 2 of LoS. It's aliiiiiiive!

Contemplated: icons, and my LJ layout graphics and how Photoshop might make them prettier.

Hugs: [livejournal.com profile] cedar85.

Feeling I'm possessed by: [livejournal.com profile] fasterthanlight.

Finished reading: Narcissus In Chains. Fun, though not as good as some others in the series. Micah is hot, Gilbert is adorable, and gender-bending werehyenas rock.

Photoshop: is a minor deity. So is Mozart's requiem.

Werehyenas. Like werewolves, only hyenas. And as weird as normal hyenas.

Just here to comment on your icon--yes, it is all about the lens flare. And they just get better when you fuck about with the hue/saturation. Flares of many colours!

Ahem. *pulls P'shop-Geek hat down further over her eyes* Can't see me, can't see me, la la la la la-a.

*LOL*

*reshuffles layers* Sure I can see you!

Just turning into a photoshop geek, but, yes, it's amazing what you can do with lens flare (http://isomerica.net/~mlah/temp/star.jpg). ;-)

That was actually a 'tell me more!' what, not a 'what did you say?' what. Sorry, should have made that clearer.

Drat, you sneaky thing! *turns own layer to invisible*

Innit though?

Have you discovered yet the odd things (http://www.doyourthing.org/slytherclaw/flo.jpg) you can do with a good copy of Eyecandy?

Oh. There are werehyenas, a whole pack of them, and their leader is this fellow called Narcissus. He's bi, but hasn't allowed any women into his pack because he fears that they'd upturn his power structure--hyenas are maternal, and he's worried he wouldn't be woman enough for them. In the meantime, he's cross-dressing and wants a baby--as in, wants to bear one. Turns out to be a hermaphrodite at the end. Also is a heavy SM player and runs a matching club.

This is all going on in the background, of course. LKH is fun. *nods*

Thank you for making my night with your recommendation. Oh, and for feeding my Percy addiction. Please, oh please tell me there's an NC-17 version?? Do tell if you know any other good Percy fics. There're hard to find. If you'd like to read my Percy/Snape 'Sweet Hypocrisy'... blushes.

You liked my Twincest? Wooooonderful. I was really worried about the reception it would get. My beta liked it, but she was slightly squicked by twincest in general I think.

And for some reason I interpret LKH as meaning "Laurell K. Hamilton", despite not having read much of her stuff. (One book. Maaaaybe two?)

This is Caroline reporting in from London to say that, erm, here I am. Hi. [waves] I am in a nice hostel full of Australians (well, at this very moment I am in an internet cafe, but that's besides the point). oh, and which email address should I use to further communicate?

Am referring to Laurell K. Hamilton. Narcissus In Chains is the latest of the Anita Blake series. She gets weirder with each one. ;-)

On Percy and Terence: I don't know if there's an NC-17 version. *looks blank* Maybe I'll poke the author on FAP someday.

I read Sweet Hypocrisy a bit back, when it first showed up at RS.org, because I read anything Snape/Percy. And it was most excellent.

There are also a few Snape/Percy fics at the SSFQ (http://www.sockiipress.org/~luthien/snapeff/index.html), scattered through the archives. And [livejournal.com profile] cedar85 is going to be writing Percy, subtextual Lucius/Percy, and doing it incredibly literately and poetically, if she's at all consistent. And, if the bunny doesn't die and I get it done before Monday, I'm going to be writing Lucius/Percy smut for her birthday. And then, of course, there's Price of Wisdom (http://www.jbx.com/~boethius/forged/wisdom.html)--forget who wrote it, my brain's bad that way--which is absolutely bloody fantastic.

Yeah, Percy is yummy. ;-)

And I loved your twincest. I have a weak spot for the pairing in general (all other incest squicks me, but not them, for whatever reason), found that, read it, and said, "Why the hell isn't all F/G like this? They aren't angsting, they aren't twisted, they're bloody Fred and George!" And laughed my ass off.

In other words, exactly the reason you wrote it. ;-)

Whoa, long post for no coffee time. *staggers off to work*

I'm glad you liked "Unprofessional Behaviour"! There's no NC-17 version at the moment, mostly because I feel like the plot is complete without it. But I am toying with the idea of writing something else about SurvivedFredAndGeorge!Percy.

I may have already read the Snape/Percy scattered through the SSFQ. Looking forward to Cedar's Percy, though she's done character death that has depressed me badly in the past. I tend to poke her fics with a stick first to see if they'll bite.

*Icarus hands wired_lizard's bunny some carrot tops... 'psst! Here, eat up! They're fresh.'*

There's some good FredandGeorge angst out there, I just don't understand why it's the majority of the twincest! I mean, isn't the attraction how much fun they are? It's brief, but Telanu's befuddled twins in-that-fic-that-comes-just-before-'Corresponding' are a great example of a good FredandGeorge. Calling themselves 'stately homos of old England' and 'but I should let you know, I have it on excellent authority that I'm a much better kisser than Fred is.' LOL!

Oh. *tries not to sound disappointed* no NC-17? I was sort of hoping FictionAlley had the edited version..

Percy was just starting to show a slightly different side of himself, and then lights went out. Not to mention I like your OC, lazy Slytherins indeed, and feel the chemistry between Terence and Percy deserves more play.

Terence isn't quite an OC. He's in the first book, and the pairing was part of the challenge. (Though to be honest my research consisted of determining that he had been on the Slytherin Quidditch team and the actor in the movie was blond.)

I guess, um . . . *looks embarrassed* . . . NC-17 is hard to write. Especially straightforward sex, and by the end of "Unprofessional Behaviour" the conflict has been temporarily resolved. (That is, Terence is going to lie back and let Percy make him come.) The really interesting stuff is going to be the next morning, when Percy sobers up. And then you're getting into plot, and probably Percy's point of view, with all the difficulties that entails.

And I'm not sure I'm ready to write Percy epic yet. That's, like, commitment.

You're both right about Fred/ George, by the way. Hurrah for the sane but evil pairing!

The character death was probably Rondo, which she's massively embarassed about. I highly recommend Like the Finest Gold, and her Percyfic seems darkly fascinating, but not morbidly depressing. (Been AIMing her about it at times.) Swords to Plowshares is the title, last I know; keep an eye out for it. ;-)

*bunny nibbles* Thankees!

I'm trying to remember whether I've read that, or whether I'm thinking of something else involving that line--first met "stately homos of Old England" in Sandman, and it is such an excellent phrase. Twins, stately, indeed. ;-)
