letterbladeDid some more work on my new piano project, Rachmaninoff's C# minor prelude--bit of a chestnut, but gorgoues--which has some whompin' huge chords in it. My pinky fingers are out of shape and getting tired, because it's been a while since I've played something this demanding, and I'm going to have to cut some notes. On the other paw, I love the piece dearly, and I'm learning it faster than I thought. It shouldn't take too long before I'm able to play the double-staffed part at the end hands-together and without massive fumbling. And it is the first piece I've played with double-staffing.
(That's when there are so many notes being played that, rather than trying to jamn them all onto the normal grand staff (one line of treble, one line of base) used for piano music, the composer makes two grand staffs and links them, and you play all of them at once. In this case, both hands are jumping back and forth, the left hand consistently below the right, so the bottom two line are bass and one contains the lower chords of the left hand and one contains the higher ones; and the top two are trebel and do the same for the right hand. Sounds bloody impressive.)

tyraarane, a.k.a. Ti'ana Katarina, who probably nobody else reading this knows because she's a Myst fandom friend and not an HP fandom or RL friend. But I have finally gotten myself a code to liberate her from uJournal, and there was much rejoicing.

And I am now poking the existing parts of the second chapter of LoS, with some success. Maybe I'll have more tonight. Not rash enough to promise myself I'll finish it, but...
Submitted Slither and So Sayeth Death ten days ago. They aren't up yet. If they don't show up in tomorrow's Chapter Owls, I'm going to bitch at them. Or rather, write them a nice polite email with the information they want, but that's what happens when Ravenclaws get bitchy.
Will wait on making my style until next weekend, I think. I have some more images I need to make, and planning to do, and such.
