Ahh, Blogathon. It's a charity-raising event based on the walk-a-thon (or bike-a-thon, or whatever) model. For twenty-four hours, starting on 9 am on Saturday the 26th (that's EST; adjust as appropriate), you post to your blog at least once every half hour. Some people just blog, some people have schticks. I'll be doing approximately the same thing I did last year, which is posting fic scene by scene as I write it, and making random small posts while working as necessary. (That was what generated Thirty-Five Owls.)

In honor of this insanity, people donate money to a charity of your choice.

It should be noted that Blogathon is not being officially run this year. Day of Blogs (http://www.dayofblogs.org/) seems to be stepping in as a backup organizer. I'm blogging with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and a batch of other folks who have been doing this for years, so they're not exactly skipping one. I don't know if they're going through Day of Blogs or another backup (I should ask them!), but they know what they're doing, so I'll just follow them around.
