Goals for tonight/tomorrow...
Mar. 4th, 2007 07:17 pm(Went to TGI Friday's for STEAKGASM. OMG SO GOOD.)
1. Edit/code/archive my three recent fic excursions--Jadeite/Naru, Gerald/Damien, Jack/Rose.
2. Type in the first chapter of my new bunny.......my attempt to write several things I haven't written in ages: plot, humor, not too wordy, dialogue-heavy. The title? "How the Pteradon Fixed Doomsday, Sortof." Yup, pure self-serving crack. Been bogged down in heavy literary shit. At least that's my current running theory. We'll see if it works. Wish to finish it before the new season, so...
3. ...catch up on my LJ comments again. *hides*
Oh, and, Doctor!Scarf Meter:
To be upped later tonight as I [finally] finish Torchwood. (Well, sans the three episodes Cyn skipped--Small Worlds, Countrycide, and Random Shoes--the first two of which at least I will definitely watch at some point, but not as urgent.)
Why is it still fucking with my head that writing isn't easy like it used to be? :/

and...and...you share my current fandom SQUEE!
Yay Torchwood indeed! Very uneven, but when it's good, it's good. Mostly due to Jack, who I love SO much. And Owen, who I love in that asshole-but-fascinating-character sort of way.

Date: Mar. 6th, 2007 12:37 pm (UTC)1. Passable premiere
2. Fun
3. Quite good!
4. Alternately really B-movie and really good
5. Skipped on first watch due to apparent mediocrity, so don't know
6. Ditto
7. Torrid lesbian love affairs for the win
8. Quite good!
9. Skipped on first watch due to apparent total suckage
10. MINDBLOWINGLY GOOD
11. Opinions vary; I liked it quite a bit, as Owen is a fascinating little asshole
12. MINDBLOWINGLY GOOD
13. Quite good for the first while, then a bad plot choice made things really, really suck for a while, then good again at the very very end

Date: Mar. 6th, 2007 08:06 pm (UTC)You're totally right about Torchwood - and it's got so much potential! I hope the scripts pick up a bit more in s2, but even the way it is, it's rather shiny and unique isn't it?

Date: Mar. 6th, 2007 08:08 pm (UTC)(Ten does have a weird sort of sexuality compared to Nine, doesn't he?)

Date: Mar. 8th, 2007 02:51 am (UTC)And you getting your writing mojo back would be a very good thing. Still kinda working on mine; Arcana Viscera killed me ded.
One also wonders whether they intend to continue Torchwood without Jack...I haven't heard on that point yet. Would remove much though not all of the point; honestly, if you remove Jack, the character carrying the series is Owen, and that could go some very odd places.
*hugs* Good luck with the RL!

Date: Mar. 8th, 2007 11:25 pm (UTC)*nods vigorously* Ahh, hubris. It's my favourite thing about him, which says a lot as my Ten love is great.
Arcana Viscera killed me ded.
Understandably! That fic was astounding, both in the scope of its ambition and in its wonderful execution.
As for Jack and Torchwood, I've spoiled myself a bit with how that's going to go, but I won't comment in case you wish to remain spoiler free. *grin*
Re: POV, I think just go with what feels most natural to you. If you've already got some written with Jack, then it'd be a pity to scrap that. I'm looking forward to the results. ^^
Good luck with the RL!
You too! XD

Date: Mar. 10th, 2007 12:06 am (UTC)...you see, somehow you caused this little voice in the back of my head to pipe up saying "Ten's POV, second person, you can do it!"
To which my reaction was naturally to throw things.
I think this was the same little overachieving voice which had me spending a lunch break shuffling words around in my notebook trying to comprehend the Dalek mindset. (You want to talk alien...?)

Date: Mar. 10th, 2007 05:41 am (UTC)I'm...sorry? *Grin* But that sounds intriguing. I wish the voices in the back of my head would give me something other than snippets of dialogue.
Oooh, Daleks. I love Daleks. The scariest scene out of s2 for me was actually the Cybermen in the tunnels, but the Daleks are infinitely superior. (By the way, I haven't finished watching s2 yet - am about halfway through and pacing myself. I am very spoiled, though.)

Date: Mar. 10th, 2007 03:54 pm (UTC)Ohhh, there are parts of Doomsday you will get a kick out of. I know I did. Best Daleks evah!
