Upon torrenting a copy of the second season of classic Trek...yeah, it had to be done. Intended use: commenting on pictures of people's cats.

I really should write a proper update someday. Life is good atm, not to worry--very good--just swimmy and imposing to write about. I exist, and well, and things are looking up.

Breaking in the sex filter. Should do some journal-organizing, make and user-info-link a post specifically for requesting to be on filters, that sort of thing. Also realizing that my tag system sucks. But lazy. And currently sleepy, and in need of a shower.

It just...yeah, had to be done. OriginalTrek is such good crack!

*snuggles* And I'm glad to. Was getting a bit iffy back there for a while.

I Name you! ^_^

(Okay, that allusion has to be worth at least 15, 20 points?)

At least that, seeing as it passed the obscure-enough-to-fly-over-my-head test. ;)

Madeline L'Engle, The Wind in the Door.

(I have been called the Mistress of Obscure References. 15-20 points means it's possible but hard. I think the worst one was 100 points, a reference to a minor character in a lost episode of Doctor Who.)

Ahhhhh. Somehow I just never clicked with L'Engle--much to the disappointment of the-ex-GF-of-doom. Don't know exactly why, just one of those writers who I feel I should like but can just never concentrate on for some intangible reason. (I've got the same problem with LeGuin--her fiction, rather, as I love her essays. Maybe it's those L'-names.)

Yay for obscure references though! They amuse me. Sadly my range of geeky knowledge is relatively limited for making or getting them, plus I have a horrible memory.

I liked the first two books. Not as much as some people did, and when I tried to go back and re-read them as an adult I couldn't. (Unlike, say, Juster, who means more to me each time I read him, or Ende, who SCARES me more each time ...)

I would like to share many books with you.
