fan_the_vote is doing something very interesting, as most of you have probably already seen on your Fiendslisten. Fen are offering various services (as in writing, betaing, art, web design, etc.) in return for contributions to MoveOn.org and/or the Kerry campaign.

Following: my fandoms and offerings, double-posted here as requested in the community rules. Spread the word, folks!

Fandoms current enough to be feasible: Harry Potter, Star Trek (mostly Voyager, possibly TNG), Myst (in which I do not do smut--sorry, archbishopm), Utena, Escaflowne, Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Sandman, Elfquest (through Kings of the Broken Wheel).

Things I will do:

LJ icons or other small Acts of Photoshop. Certainly no more than two dollars, and that would be for something elaborate--animated, that sort of thing.

Drabbles/ficlets/poetry. Five bucks, maybe? More if you expect me to rhyme though. o.O

Longer fics. As many people have said, subject to negotiation, discussion, etc. I wouldn't be able to do anything very long due to RL constraints, of course, probably not much longer that 6000 words or so. Smut a distinct possibility in most fandoms, though I do have some limits even when whoring myself for politics.

Web design. Again, subject to negotiation, especially as I hand-code everything and thus take longer than others might. Knowledge: HTML, CSS, just enough Java to do image rollovers and basic things like that. I've just realized that I don't have a web design portfolio online (and most of the sites I've actually uploaded are old or very quickly thrown together to post specific content). I might try to fix that soon, if I'm feeling procrastinatory.

LJ layouts. Ditto web design, mostly. Would not be able to do S2 though; S1 is incredibly straightforward to me, S2 boggles me. Go figure.

If for some ungodly reason you wish to donate some random amount of money (at least a little more than it would take me to mail it to you, I would hope) for a nicely printed and inscribed copy of one of my fics, I see no reason not to indulge you. I'll warn you though--my handwriting's horrible.

I do knit, so if you desperately want a House scarf (a large project, and mine are not as accurate as some) or a hand-made Tribble (a small project--it's all about the fuzzy yarn), I could do that too.

Unless it's something very small, I will be unlikely to be able to get started until the beginning of June--it's final crunch month at my college. By the same token, I am not (for this round; I'll have to see about the timing of the next one) offering 3D creations, as there's no way I'll be able to do anything through finals and I most likely won't have access to an even halfway decent program over the summer. And none of my pressing or cookied WIPs are big enough and alive enough to finish by June 30th, except possibly for the OLDfic, Talvi-Asumi, Within These Pages, and a few Utena shorts and one HP short that nobody has seen. (Unbroken is a presentfic, if a delayed one; that wouldn't be fair.) I've never betaed, though I might not be too bad at it, so neither is it fair to offer that.

Things I will pay to see written, maybe, if I have any money lying around:

Good Utena fic. Particularly good Utena smut. (I'm nursing the sneaking realization that I've read all the good Utena fic in the fandom after being in it for two months.)

Young!Albus fic. Particularly young!Albus smut.

Vulcan history, particularly the era before Surak and possible speculation on the primitive Vulcan cultures, fascinates me, though I admit to unfamiliarity with most of the novels or semi-canon out there.

Pet OCCs that I'd like to see more written about: Lon Suder (Voyager), Grandma Longbottom (Harry Potter), Appledelhi (Cowboy Bebop), Eries (Escaflowne).

Pet obscure pairings that I'd like to see more written about: Lucifer/Dream (Sandman), Tuvok/Suder (Voyager), Juri/Kozue or other such unusual combinations (Utena), Alastor/anybody (Harry Potter).

OTP: Shinji/Kaworu (Evangelion).

Jess with the one long braid and the rest short? Oh, yes. She graduated a few terms ago, but she was one of my good friends when she was here. (Gotta love how people get referred to in the past tense when they leave this place.)

Jemma...doesn't talk to me anymore. I have a suspicion she never liked me, but these are the things you find out when the people you thought were your friends ditched you after two years.

Er.
