letterblade: (dodgeball)
[personal profile] letterblade
[And it is inevitable. Every fandom I enter to any degree (with the exception of Myst) is subject to this.]

I have put serious mental effort into working out a Rocky casting with Bebop.

So the most reasonable starting assumption is that Spike and Julia should be Brad and Janet. (I consider this rather more of an insult to Spike than to Julia.)

It almost goes without saying that this rather squarely lands Vicious in the role of Frankie.

Rocky is then left a mystery; I will tackle him later.

To knock off the rest of the Bebop crew before I start worrying about difficult loose ends: with apologies to Jet's character, but perhaps to his relief, I will throw a blanket over those muscular thighs and leave him to be Dr. Scott.

Much as it would be nominatorialy appropriate to cast Ed as Eddie (and a very cute Eddie she'd make!), or instrumentally appropriate to cast Gren as Eddie, I think Eddie will be dictated by our Columbia. For I think Faye's personality lands her quite squarely as Columbia. Which then, I would say, leaves us with Whitney to be Eddie. He can borrow Gren's saxaphone. (Oh, baby baby. But he'd better be careful with it, else he will face the wrath of the Gay Boy With Boobs.)

Back to the other Ed: I am quite aware that that girl would probably quite cheerfully take on any role in the affair, perhaps hiking up her shirt when necessary, complete with Ein humping her leg during the Time Warp. Thus to more-or-less save us from that most unholy of terrors, we shall park her in front of Tomato and let her be the Narrator, with occasional contributions from Ein. (It's just a jump to the left. Arf!)

So this leaves us with Rocky, Riff-Raff, and Magenta. Rocky, as I've mentioned before, is an utter enigma--there's simply no remaining fourth who can be comfortably added the triangle of those primary three, especially as the lust object of a Vicious Frank'n'furter. In Rocky's case, I shall have to stretch, and take a bit of personal indulgence, and go on the theory that, well, they had the potential to be lovers at some point, and cast Rocky as Gren. (Whether or not he spends the entire time topless is, I suppose, up to the reader to decide, depending upon how much s/he likes boobs.)

This still, however, leaves Riff-Raff and Magenta, and at this point I will give up and simply cast them sporkily. The first possibility that springs to mind is Appledelhi and MacIntire, or perhaps MacIntire and Appledelhi. (This does, I suppose, imply interesting things about the origins of the narrator.)

The second possibility is that Riff-Raff and Magenta are, respectively, Lin and Shin.
